Urban Operation Água Branca Competition
Taking as a starting point the transversal interconnection with the river, currently non-existent, and located between Av. Marquês de São Vicente and the Tietê River, the proposal was based on dynamizing and providing encounters in the neighborhood’s spaces, especially between the public and private spheres.
From Marquês de São Vicente, the pedestrian crosses the neighborhood on a promenade marked by a ground floor of commercial use that permeates the park conceived along the banks of the river, and is transposed by a walkway that touches the Júlio de Mesquita Neto Bridge and culminates in the access square, interconnecting the two banks of the Tietê River.
At the end of the promenade, fully integrated into the park, is a “CEU Territory” with several social facilities that follow the guidelines of the “SMDU Integrated Equipment Network Program”. This space houses CEU and UBS units, a daycare center, a library, and sports equipment, thus seeking to establish an urban reference center with various social uses in a single place, facilitating access for local citizens and those nearby to these services.
